In 1973, Norma McCorvey (known in court documents as “Jane Roe”) filed a lawsuit against the attorney general of Texas. McCorvey argued a Texas law banning abortion, which had been enforced against her, was unconstitutional.
ON June 24, 2022, THE SUPREME COURT OVERTURNED THE RULING, ENDING THE federal protectionS that had been in place for 50 years.
Since June 24, 2022, 14 states have banned abortion across the United States
6 states do not have exceptions for when the A person’s health is at risk
10 states have no rape/ incest exceptions
13 states have no fatal fetal anomaly exceptions.
At this point you may be trying to think back on what the images at the beginning of this post were depicting. That's usually how it starts. A subtle shift over time until one day we wake up asking ourselves how we've gotten to this point.
But we have one last chance to make sure this isn’t the world we wake up to on Wednesday morning.
